Hello Seattle!

Two days ago was remembrance day. Other than remembering the soldiers that died in all those wars, it’s a public holiday in Canada so it meant getting drunk… with respect.

But before that, on the weekend I went to Seattle! Our day started very early on Saturday, at 5am to be exact. I woke up Jols who was sleeping in my room and she stumbled out of my room and I stumbled out of my room and wondered why the hell I had to wake up when it was still black outside.

We bussed to the coach that was taking us to Seattle, and funnily enough, had Starbucks for breakfast (there are over 490 Starbucks in Seattle, including the first one ever). About an hour or so into the bus ride we arrived at the US border. We all unloaded out of the bus and waited in line to be cleared as not a terrorist. On the wall was a huge board with posters of “missing people”, most of which were children. LOVELY!

Anyway, so we all got through without much trouble, except for Julian… because he’s Indonesian and apparently a security risk.

After we got back onto the coach, our next stop was a huge outlet mall, in a very dodgy area. So we shopped, and avoided scary looking people, including a tall thin man with a cowboy hat who wouldn’t stop staring at Daffodil on the bus. We passed through this really dodgy looking Casino as well. Like in those episodes of Simpsons where they just build a Casino on sacred land, it was THAT kind of Casino, with creepy, almost lifeless people staring at the pokie screens. Completely different from the glitz and glam of Crown! SO ANDY AND PETER, be careful LOL.

On Sunday we just walked around Seattle. We had Starbucks for breakfast.. again. The best part of Seattle is the Public Market. It had so many interesting handmade arts and crafts type of things and men throwing large fish around the market (you have to witness it to understand). Other than that, Seattle is a little dull, and definitely not as pretty as Vancouver or Melbourne.

So that brings me to this week, which involved getting drunk on Tuesday night and again on Wednesday at the Pit. This is a long post so I’m gonna end it here. Bisous!
